National Sales Conference 2015: Daviker’s Highlights

/ Uncategorised

At the start of October, the team here at Daviker attended the National Sales Conference, hosted at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Specifically designed to develop the sales profession, the event is supported by the prestigious Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM) – an institute which the Daviker team are all proud to be members of.

It was an eventful day, with a number of inspiring keynote speakers, educational sessions and interesting networking opportunities. One speaker was John McCarthy, a former hostage who was held captive for five years. He gave an inspiring talk that emphasised the importance of a good relationship between leaders and colleagues.

These connections, as well as building new ones, were a key theme of the conference. CEO of the Networking Coaching Academy Rob Brown encouraged 100 delegates to interact; by sharing stories and trying out their elevator pitches. He said: “We gave them some great networking tips and within half an hour they had learned lots of networking skills and gained more confidence.”

Geoff Ramm then took customer service to the next level, and business guru Geoff Burch gave an interesting talk that explained his route to success. According to Mr. Burch, not only do sales teams need to connect with customers – they must connect with colleagues too.

There was even an enjoyable appearance from musician Midge Ure, who encouraged sales leaders to really believe in what they do – claiming this has been the foundation behind his colourful, enjoyable and successful career.

Dave Millichap from the ISMM said, “We see the National Sales Conference as the pinnacle in the national sales calendar in terms of helping sales professionals network, gain new ideas, gain inspiration and move forward in their sales careers.”

Some of the Daviker team also attended a Masterclass Breakout session, organised by TACK International – training and development solutions specialists. The session focused on procurement departments, and their views on the sales industry and the professionals within it. There were some great insights and statistics that demonstrated how the contact centre solutions industry is continually evolving.

It’s events like these that allow us to learn from and network with the best in the business. Daviker would like to thank the National Sales Conference for a fantastic day of speakers, exhibitions and industry insights. We are already planning for next year!
